Messe Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center: Overview

Messe Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center is one of the most modern exhibition centres in Europe. With 12 halls, 87,500 sqm exhibition space, conference rooms that can be flexibly variad to suit requirements, two central open-air grounds and its own lake, there are endless opportunities to realise your own ideas and individual wishes. Two multi-functional entrances to the east and the west with a service center and conference rooms ensure a steady flow of visitors. Combined with the new halls A7 and B5 this division can offer the possibility of staging two trade fairs with an equally good infrastructure at the same time.

Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH is the operator of the Neue Messe Friedrichshafen exhibition center, which is one of the most modern and largest exhibition centers in Baden-Württemberg . The majority owner of the exhibition center, the exhibition company and the main shareholder is the city of Friedrichshafen, around 97%.

History:

In 1950, the foundation stone of the Friedrichshafen trade fair was laid with the International Lake Constance Fair (IBO). At that time it took place on a school site.
In 1954 the trade fair moved to a larger area in the western Riedlepark.
The second move followed in 1968 to a site on Meistershofener Straße. There it was expanded several times until its growth was slowed by its inner-city location.
In 2002 the company finally moved to the newly built large exhibition center “Neue Messe” northeast of the city. This has now also been expanded to include four more halls. In addition to the spacious outdoor area with a 4,500 m² exhibition lake, 12 exhibition halls as well as meeting and congress rooms, the exhibition center also offers two large foyers. Separate use for different events is possible without any problems.
2019 After years of permanent growth, the fall from an international trade fair stand to a regional trade fair location followed in 2019 with the departure of Outdoor and in 2021 with the demise of Eurobike.
