Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund is opened in 1925. After suffering severe damages during World War II, the original building was rebuilt and expanded in 1952. Today Westfalenhallen Dortmund is one of the leading venues in North Rhine-Westphalia. Situated in proximity to Dortmund International Airport (13 km), Dusseldorf International Airport (63 km) and Dortmund Central Railway Station (3.9 km), the exhibition centre is well connected to numerous major cities in Germany and Europe.

In 2015 the venue’s Congress Centre was awarded a Barrier-free Access Compliant Certificate. Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund has 9 air-conditioned exhibition halls and 30 meeting rooms of various sizes. It offers 60,000 sq metres of exhibition area. Around 60 events take place at Messe Westfalenhallen Dortmund each year. InterTabac, CREATIVA and the biannual consumer goods trade fair vivanti are among the highlights.

Westfalenhallen:

Westfalenhallen is a commercial complex composed of conference (Kongresszentrum Dortmund) and exhibition centers (Messe Dortmund) with an indoor arena (Westfalenhalle), located in Dortmund, Germany. It is surrounded by the Eissportzentrum Westfalenhallen, Stadion Rote Erde, Signal Iduna Park and Helmut-Körnig-Halle.

The original building was opened in 1925, but was destroyed during World War II. Reopening on 2 February 1952, new halls were built, the “Große Westfalenhalle”. The “Kleine Westfalenhalle” served also for balls, exhibitions and concerts, such as the Dortmunder Philharmoniker, until the Opernhaus Dortmund was opened in 1966. The Bundesliga was founded at the Westfalenhallen in 1962.
