Closer to home, Sharjah serves the growing trade of the northern emirates of Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. It links, by arterial highways, the country’s capital of Abu Dhabi and beyond, into Saudi Arabia, as well as southward into Oman and Yemen.

Just 25 minutes from Sharjah International Airport, 35 min from Dubai International Airport and with excellent public transport and several internationally acclaimed hotels within walking distance, Expo Sharjah is the clear choice for anyone wishing to get their brand message out to the world.

History: Expo Centre Sharjah

Expo Centre Sharjah was established by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 1977 – a visionary first-of-its-kind for the United Arab Emirates. We have led the steady growth of the trade fairs, exhibitions and conventions industry in the region for more than 40 years and have become home to the Gulf’s best-attended trade shows.

In its earlier years, Expo Centre Sharjah hosted events in a variety of venues. The success of the organisation and booming growth of the UAE as a commercial hub in the Middle East inspired the development of a larger, spectacular exhibition and meeting complex. On 16 September 2002, His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE, inaugurated the current state-of-the-art Expo Centre Sharjah facility, featuring six expansive halls and world-class technical and visitor facilities to cater for events from a vast array of industries.

Today, this striking Centre at the heart of Sharjah’s vibrant Al Khan area is a renowned landmark in the city. It is spread over an area of 126,000 square meters, housing over 28,000 square meters of highly functional, column-free exhibition space and overlooking a beautiful lagoon.

Whatever the size or format of your event, the exceptional multi-purpose facilities at Expo Centre Sharjah can be adjusted to perfectly accommodate its specific scale and objectives.

Outside, various dedicated parking zones and six separate service gates ensure hassle-free access for exhibitors, VIP guests, special needs visitors and the general public alike.

The 6 spacious indoor multi-purpose exhibition halls cover a total footprint of 42,000 m², with an additional 6,000 m² parking. Smaller supporting venues are ideal for meetings, public seminars, celebration or launch events loading, unloading and setting up of all formats of stands and other assets is a breeze thanks to easy access routes from the 6 service gates, wide service areas as well as from the central boulevard.

Inside the design-led interior is both supremely functional and aesthetically appealing. Finished in a stylish combination of warm wood and polished steel, the cavernous temperature controlled halls have been designed for maximum functionality and flexibility. The most advanced underfloor utilities have been thoughtfully considered and generously provided in each 72 x 54 meters hall, ensuring absolute convenience and ample comfort – from data connectivity and energy supplies to air, water and drainage engineering.

People Counting System help to smooth traffic flow and manage crowds while capturing valuable visitor data for show organisers. Digital kiosks located at various key points providing visitors and exhibitors with event & venue information.

The central boulevard at the heart of the complex gives visitors convenient access to the main halls, and dividable meeting/seminar rooms. The boulevard is also flanked by the press lounge, service related offices, restaurants and cafés, and ATMs adding to the efficiency of show organisers, as well as the depth of the visitor experience.

At Expo Centre Sharjah, we’ve thought carefully about every detail our clients and visitor might need and done our best to take care of those. This is why you’ll be delighted to find that several exceptional services – not ordinarily available in similar complexes – have been catered for.
