Antwerp Expo, Antwerp, Belgium: Overview

The Antwerp Expo is a convention center in the Belgian city of Antwerp. The building is located on the Jan Van Rijswijcklaan (N177), close to the Antwerp ring road. Opposite Antwerp Expo is the Tank Monument.

In 1958, the National Building Center opened on Wilrijkseplein, which served as a documentation and information center for the construction industry. The site included exhibition pavilions, an auditorium and model homes that were built according to system construction.

In 1971, the Antwerp Book Fair was held in the National Building Center for the first time.

Between 1972 and 1989 new buildings were built for commercial exhibition activities and the information pavilions disappeared. The conference center was also renamed Antwerp Expo.

Facilities:

With its 18.548 m² of floor space, Antwerp Expo hosts more than 1 million visitors a year at more than 60 shows, fairs and exhibitions – as well as other events, conferences and meetings. Five exhibition halls, complete with technical facilities, plus a congress and seminar centre featuring six modular, well-equipped spaces with separate entrance and views over the surrounding area provide a whole range of options and possibilities. Two restaurants offer plenty of scope for catering.
