Make It Edmonton 2023: Event Profile

Since 2008, Make It has grown to become one of the most popular and well-attended craft fairs in Canada, with biannual shows in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. This massive growth would have never been possible without the support, enthusiasm, and love from our amazing community. Each year, more and more conscious shoppers buy from our Makies, which in turn allows them to do the work they love.

Make It was founded by siblings Chandler Herbut and Jenna Herbut. As makers themselves, they were inspired to create an event that their friends and peers would appreciate. Since the early days, Make It has been a platform for countless artists, makers, and designers to be able to sell their work to the public.

In 2016, after 8 years in business, Chandler made the decision to leave Make It and instead focus his attention on running his clothing company, Ole Originals. Jenna continues to run the business from an office in Gastown along with a tiny-but-mighty team. She also supports the handmade community by writing regular blog posts and recording videos.
