The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, serves as the nodal agency responsible for formulating and implementing strategic initiatives in semiconductor and display manufacturing. ISM’s mandate encompasses the development of a resilient and self-reliant domestic ecosystem—spanning semiconductor fabs, display fabrication, chip design, packaging, testing, and talent development—through structured schemes, global collaborations, technological transfer, and fiscal incentives, with the overarching vision of establishing India as a global electronics manufacturing and design hub.
