- The Ugandan Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperative introduced “The National Grain Trade Policy” in 2016, which was in line with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the National Development Plan II to improve the food security, income generation, and advancement of industrialization.
- According to the DDA, Uganda’s revenue from export of dairy products has risen sharply, by 63% in three years (2018-2020). Dairy now accounts for accounts for 8% of total export value
- In 2020, production of poultry meat for Uganda was 69,991 tonnes. Production of poultry meat of Uganda increased from 14,846 tonnes in 1971 to 69,991 tonnes in 2020 growing at an average annual rate of 3.59%.
